It is that time of the year when eyes of every bride and groom are on the ramp. With India Couture Week completing eleven successful years, this edition is bound to be extravagant and splendid.
Opening ICW’18 was none other than the ace couturier, Tarun Tahiliani with his collection ‘In Elysium’ , the modern Indian Goddesses are being celebrated. One who embraces luxury as a way of life and encapsulates all the beautiful influences of India.
Fusing iconic European construction with classic Indian styles and embroideries, this collection of shimmery florals and weightless drapes brings in the essence of rich heritage in today’s modern life.
Based on a soft colour palette, this collection is a beautiful mix of layers of Swarovski-encrusted embellishments, fine thread work , chikankari, zardozi, ari and shadow-work and 3-D florals on the surface.
Menswear in this collection is based on similar details. Ivory, mauve, powder blue ,tea-rose , ebony and burgundy complete the palette for the mens this season. Contrast detailing in deep peach, ochre, orange and paisley add vibrant bursts of auspicious colour to debonair sherwanis, bandhgalas and bandhis. The eye for perfection speaks volumes in the contained drapes of the pleated long-line kurtas, grandeur of the pre-fitted cummerbunds, and textured elegance of pin-tucking.
